Planning bakes

How does the planner keep steps out of my sleep?

Set your sleep window in Account → Your kitchen (or switch it on in the planner). Crumbwise plans backwards from your ready time and, when a hands-on step would fall in the window, it stretches or shortens a flexible waiting step — usually the cold retard or the levain build — within safe limits. If a step still can't move (for example a very early ready time), the timeline marks it "inside your sleep" so you can pick another time.

Why are my step times different from the formula page?

Formula pages show times for a 24 °C kitchen. When you plan a bake, fermentation steps are adjusted to the kitchen temperature you enter: cooler kitchens take longer, warmer ones less.

I'm behind schedule. What do I do?

On the bake screen, tap I'm running late. The remaining steps are re-planned from now; the cold retard absorbs the delay when it can, otherwise the new ready time is shown.

I didn't get a reminder.

Check Settings → Notifications → Crumbwise and allow notifications. Reminders are scheduled when you save a plan; if you allowed notifications later, open the bake once so they're scheduled again. Focus modes can hold notifications back.

Starters and the peak prediction

When does the prediction start using my starter?

After five feedings with a marked peak. Until then it uses typical starter timings and says so. Mark the peak when the dome is at its highest and the more you mark, the tighter the ± range gets.

Can I log more than one flour in a feeding?

Yes — add up to five flours per feeding. You can mark its peak later, or delete a feeding you logged by mistake (touch and hold it).

How do the jar photos work?

When you log a feeding, photograph the jar with the camera (or pick a photo). When you mark the peak, take a second one. Both appear side by side in the feeding log so you can see the rise.

Library and import

Can I use the library without an account?

Yes. Formulas, technique guides, the troubleshooter and the calculator work without signing in, and stay available offline once loaded.

How do I import a recipe from a cookbook?

Library → Import a recipe → Scan a page with the camera (or choose a photo, or paste the text). Crumbwise reads the text on your device and fills in a formula for you to check. Recipe photos are never uploaded.

Account and data

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password?, enter your email and use the 6-digit code we send. The code works for 10 minutes.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Account → Delete account, then confirm twice. Your account and everything in it — starters, feedings, bakes, photos and shared plans — are deleted from our server immediately. If you can't open the app, email us from your account's address and we'll delete it for you.

How do I stop sharing a bake plan?

Open the bake → Share plan → Stop sharing (or use the button on the bake's review page). The link stops working at once.

Does Crumbwise cost anything?

No. Crumbwise is free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no tracking.
